Je suis de retour avec une nouvelle page centrée sur ma fille aînée. C'est une page toute en simplicité et qui laisse la part belle à la photo et au journaling. J'avoue que j'ai essayé d'ajouter quelques embellissements supplémentaires mais, n'étant pas convaincue du résultat, je les ai enlevés!

La bande rose (réalisée avec du gesso, un peu de peinture rouge et un pinceau large) ainsi que le cœur, que j'ai cousu avec du fil rouge, mettent l'accent sur la photo. J'ai peint la découpe en bois avec le même mélange utilisé pour la bande rose et je l'ai placée sur la photo. J'aime beaucoup cette association de couleurs rose clair-noir-blanc que je trouve très douce.

Après avoir placé tous mes éléments sur la page, j'ai réalisé le journaling en traçant préalablement un cadre au crayon à papier que j'ai ensuite effacé une fois l'encre sèche. Je ne suis pas toujours très à l'aise avec le journaling car j'ai souvent du mal à trouver les mots et j'ai parfois peur de gâcher la page avec mon écriture. Mais, cette fois, j'avais envie de dresser un portrait rapide de ma grande et j'aime l'idée que mes filles puissent relire ce que j'ai écrit dans quelques années...

I'm back with a new layout all about my 8-year-old girl. It's a simple page, focusing on the photo and on the journaling. I actually tried to add more embellies but, in the end, I preferred the way the page looked without them. So I decided to remove them!

The pink strip I made mixing gesso with a bit of red paint and the heart I stitched using red thread put the emphasis on the picture. I painted the wood veneer piece the same pink I used for the strip and I placed it on the photo. I just love light pink, black and white together: so soft, right?

Once I was finished placing all the items on the page, I drew a frame using a pencil to write the journaling and erased it once the ink was dry. Writing some journaling is not that easy for me as I find it difficult to find the right words and I sometimes feel like I'm going to mess up the layout with my handwriting! But, here, I wanted to make a quick portrait of my eldest daughter and I quite like the idea of the girls being able to read this in a few years...

- embellissements / embellishments: découpe en bois / wood veneer (Pinkfresh Studio-Happy Things), napperons / doilies (Artemio), peinture rouge / red paint (Crayola), gesso, encre / ink (Izink Pigment Caviar), fil / thread, stylo noir / black pen.
